Hi,
I am currently running two midi controllers:
1) Korg Nano Control 2;
2) Korg Nanokey Studio.
I can get Arena to recognize and run both simultaneously, but no matter I do, It seems I can´t save the Nanokey Studio configuration. Every time I get in a new gig I have all Nano Control 2 shortcuts working but nothing saved on the Nanokey Studio side.
The strange thing is that while on Arena preferences, if I hit a Nanokey Studio key, Arena receives the input data. When editing the midi shortcuts, all Nanokey Studio settings are there but they simply don´t work.
They will only get back to work if I clear/delete them and reset the shortcut. Then both midi will work together for the evening.
Any clues on what am I missing here?
Thanks
Paulo

Re: 2 Midi Controllers - Saving Presets
How do you have the input and output devices set up for the shortcuts?

Re: 2 Midi Controllers - Saving Presets
What do you mean exactly and what would you suggest?
I´ll have to check that. I don´t have my gig system running close to me right now.
Thank you.

Re: 2 Midi Controllers - Saving Presets
Hello.
I tested once again and set multiple shortcuts. Input and Output of second controller shortcuts were set to the respective controller.
If I restart Arena, everything seems to be working properly.
If I close Arena, remove 2nd controller cable (simulating going to a new gig), reconnect cable and restart Arena the issue is back on. All greyed out.

Which controller does this?

Korg Nano Key Studio
Re: 2 Midi Controllers - Saving Presets
Do you also shut down the system for simulating going to a gig before reconnecting the controller?

Yes, sure.Zoltán wrote: Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:49 Do you also shut down the system for simulating going to a gig before reconnecting the controller?
JFYII, just upgraded Arena and now the NanoKey Studio is recognized in Prefs/Midi by KORG,INC. Controller name does not show up. The other Korg appears named properly. The Nano Control.
Again, conected both controllers and the Nano Control2 works from start.
Resolume recognizes the 2nd (NanoKey Studio) and midi timestamps on pref panel does react to my kestrokes on the NanoKey Studio, yet nothing happens.
Again, if I check midi shortcuts (input and output) targets, both are greyed out.
So I need to select each one, open the drop down menu and reselect the controller.
Then it gets back working.

Sounds like the midi devices get renamed somehow in the system, so the assignments break.pfelberg wrote: Sat Jun 10, 2023 00:41 Again, if I check midi shortcuts (input and output) targets, both are greyed out.

Do they get numbers added on their names in the midi preferences?
It's also possible the controllers don't support to be connected at the same time.

Re: 2 Midi Controllers - Saving Presets
Just an update on this:
It is not exactly a fully technical solution, but I´ve been successful for a while working with both controllers following a simple procedure:
- Do not boot computer with both controllers connected;
- Do not connect controllers after Resolume is already running;
- If for some reason I do need to restart the system during a GIG, I will most probably get controllers not working if I keep them connected during the boot.
So, booting the system, connecting controllers and only then running Resolume, so far seems to be working.
PS.: For some reason it may not work if I decide to exchange to similar USB ports (weird stuff). Controllers seem very "emotion" attached to specific USB ports.
