avenue 7.2 freezes / stalls

each time i start up after doing a session - the software freezes (spinning beachball of doom) and i have to force quit, several times, before I get it to actually come back properly.

I am using an APC mini and half the time it doesn't recognize that either.
please help

I have 5 decks
and 5 layers of 8 columns

Mac OS Monterrey
MacBook Pro
M2 Chip
16GB Ram
