Assigning different transitioning styles to midi shortcuts

Post by frogeer »

Is there a way where I can assign midi buttons with different triggering styles of clips?

For example: one button can toggle for pure "piano mode" and another button can toggle for clip transitioning where the clips snap on full instantly and then fade out over 1s after the clip is released.

Yes, but TBH Companion from Bitfocus running OSC would be a quicker surface to program/edit than MIDI. Same procedure, but companion makes it easier to read and edit than using MIDI.

One button would be mapped as a momentary piano mode on the press, and the trans time would be set to 0. on the release you would map the clear layer button.

The second button would be mapped as a toggle without piano mode and the trans time would be set to whatever you like. and on the release the trans time would be set to 1 and then the layer would be cleared.

With MIDI this is a lot of searching around in shortcuts. With Companion it's all under each button's list of actions (easier to find and edit).

I'm new to Resolume so there's so much to learn, there are things I want to ask and there are even more questions that I don't know I will have yet. Said that, I will do my own research and self learning as much as I can before I ask any more. Thank you for this lead of information!
