How to make a duplicate backup machine?
I want to create an identical backup machine that includes the composition, decks, layers, MIDI shortcuts, etc. I've exported everything using the media manager and transferred it over to the new machine. I have also copied over the XML file for the MIDI settings. I guess I should note that I have 8 layers in my comp. and I'm using an APC-40 MK2. When I go to open the composition on the new machine, it doesn't open. I bought the dongle with the specific idea in mind that I would have a backup machine ready to go in case anything happened to the primary one.

OSC might work,
Make sure to create your own OSC shortcut preset which sends the data you want.

Hi,
If you have two machines running the same material and in sync through osc, what would do the backup machine if the first one fails? It just looses the incomign osc messages and nothing bad happens?
Sorry, I dont have a second machine for testing it...

Re: How to make a duplicate backup machine?
OSC would be driven from an external controller but since it's IP based you can send it to multiple listeners and that is what will keep your machines in sync. You would then need a switcher in line for your outputs but that should be all you need for a redundant system.
