external DVD-recorder

Hi all!

I just bought a dvd-recorder to record my gigs onto.
Everything works just fine exept for when I insert te dvd-r in
my computer, he just sees it as an empty disc, and i can't see any files on it. What am i doing wrong?

The dvd-recorder is a Sony RDR-GX210

maybe your dvd-rom can only read dvd+r and doesn't support dvd-r

hi,
maybe you should finalize the disc after recording. after finalizing the disc is not recordable anymore, but should work in other devices.

you *might* be able to use software like nero to read certain types of unfinalised discs but i don't use standalones... but all answers so far sound possible. If finalising doesn't work, check out your drive - what formats can it read? Is there a firmware update?
