With that same driver installed, if you update resolume back to the current release, is it still stable?

Need to try that out! I hope it does! Switching off all windows updates and not updating the graphic card if this is the case! I really hope so!

I'm still VERY curious what would be causing this. All my machines have drivers up to date the same week they come out, same goes for windows updates. I haven't had any issues. So something other than updates is causing this behaviour.

Hey everyone!

We have got the same problem since about two months…
Here‘s what i tried so far, hopefully it helps you a little to find a solution to that:

- Upgrading Windows from Windows 10 pro to Windows 11 pro
- Changing the NVIDIA drivers from studio version to game-ready version and back (always the most up-to-date version)
- Kill as much background tasks (e.g. defender, network control system etc.) as possible
- Downgrading Arena to 7.15.0 and 7.11.3 (which I know ran stable nonstop for five days in May 2022 on the same hardware)
- Changing output framerates
- changing output Resolution
- Changing EDID`S from receiving HDMI-Matrix
- Running the show without further equipment attached (AJA-Capture Card, MIDI-Controller, no Art-Net input)
- disabling DMA textures
- set all power options to the highest possible

Some information about the hardware:

- Two different versions of Zotac Magnus Barebone-PC
- NVIDIA RTX 2070 (older system) or RTX 3080 (newer system)
- Intel i7 CPU
- 16gb (older version) or 32gb (newer version) RAM

The Setup we are using (but as I wrote above, it also occurs with different setups…):

2 screens attached, one used as user interface and the second as output to the LED. Each of them running at 1920x1080p50 (to the same matrix, resolution is forced by the same EDID).

One more information: the problem does not occur when the computer is just showing the desktop background or other software, so it just happens with Arena running. And it also happens with other hardware attached (e.g. a standard computer screen attached directly to the graphics card).

Best regards
Hanno

We've updated to 7.16 again, as all versions eventually started to show the same issue. We saw one flicker in 7.16. Windows pushed an update. We no longer see flickering.

We're not sure if it's dormant, or if it's gone... We haven't seen anything crop up since the latest Windows update happened. I'm just about ready to disconnect this computer from the internet completely and wrap it in copper mesh just in case it could possibly have wireless connectivity.

If it never comes up again I'll just say it must've been paranormal....

Any chance you could press the Winkey+R then type in winver and press enter and report what version you are on now (with no flicker) and anyway to find out what the previous windows version was before the update?

Can do - will also include hardware info and nvidia driver. Will edit this post later tonight.

I just wanna chime in and say that we're experiencing the exact same issue!

I can also confirm that it doesn't have anything to do with release version. We're running this on an old release, 7.3.3 (I know, we should upgrade, but hasn't seen the need yet.. ).
I did update to 7.6.1 (latest version on our license), but still have the same issue.

I thought, like some others here, that our graphics card was starting to give up, so I moved our install to another computer, but after just a short while I saw the same issue from that computer too.

What I've noticed in all posts here is that everyone is running Nvidia GPUs, and so are we.

What if there is something in some of the latest nvidia drivers that is not working correctly with the resolume software?

Next week when I'm at work I'm gonna try to downgrade my graphics drivers to an older version (a year or so ago) and see if that works!
I'll let you guys know if that resolves the issue..

Hey again!

I've now run our setup with old graphic drivers (version 516.94) for about two weeks, and several events, and I haven't seen any glitching at all.

At one time the drivers auto-updated, and I saw glitching. As soon as I realized, I downgraded again and haven't seen any glitching.

So it definitely seems like there is something that changed in the drivers released a few month ago that is not working well with Resolume.

Re: Resolume Arena Fullscreen Ouput flicker to Black

We've had a weird issue that sometimes when previewing clips our outputs will flicker to black (see video for visual.) I'm not sure what intitially causes the issue to start happening but when it is happening it will flicker if you go from previewing a clip to previewing an empty clip Sometimes it's only 1 ouput but sometimes it's both outputs. I do know a restart of Arena will fix it as well. Any an all guidance would be appreciated

Video of Issue: https://youtube.com/shorts/n5_nXb9-VPI?feature=share

Hardware Of Machine
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB
Corsair Rmx Series RM1000X
Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB Video Card
Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB
EKWB EK-AIO Basic 360 Liquid Cooler
Blackmagic Design 8K Pro
Just doubling back on this, i know it's been awhile. I am still having this issue and so far it seems to be related to the advanced output. If I start Arena with the advanced output already on then it doesn't initially show up however it can show up randomly, not entirely sure why. And again, when it is happening it seems to only happen when going from a previewing a clip to previewing an empty clip.

From what I can see it does not affect either the full screen or windowed outputs. However if I enable the advanced output, it happens 100% of the time but seems like it can go away on it's own. I have tried multiple versions of Arena and just recently downgraded driver versions (526.98 on a 4080). Downgrading did not stop it from happening, I have tested on both the old and new drivers and have gotten the same results. However I have only done this testing on a single machine at Location 1 (read below for context.) From what I know it is not affecting machines at either Location 2 or 3 so could be related to these specific pieces of hardware?

On another note, we have also had the output issue with the weird patterns/hexes other people are reporting happen happen to us as well. Interestingly we've had it happen on separate machines at different locations. For context we have 4 machines across 3 locations, Location 1 has 2 machines that are almost identical to each other(one has only 1TB or storage and no blackmagic card), they are the same as mentioned in my earlier post, running RTX 4080s and what not. Location 2 and 3 each have 1 machine, both of which are identical dell servers (poweredge i think) running Intel i7s and Quadro P400s(all i can remember right now). All 4 machines are running Arena 7.16.

-We had it happen yesterday during a service on a machine at the first location(one of the machines with the RTX 4080 for reference), so I downgraded the drivers. I want to give it more time to see if it returns and so I will run the downgraded drivers to see if that issue pops up again.

I was also told that the identical other machine at location 1 has started having issues, but I am unsure if it is the hex/pattern output issue or the advanced display issue I mentioned earlier. I have done nothing to fix this machine yet

Location 1 which is running one of the dell server had similar issues that were fixed after a restart of Arena, no driver downgrades have been done to this machine. Location 3 which is also running a dell server has had almost no issues from what I know.

I realise all this might be a bit confusiing but I just needed to dump all the info out before I forgot things.
