Play just one second of a clip with midi input

Hey freaks,

I want to make an interactive installation: I have a lightbarrier with a Raspberry Pi sending via bluetooth a midi signal to resolume with the input of 0=No and 1=yes. This already works out. Now its getting tricky: I would now like to play a second further in the clip with each signal (1=somebody is passing the light barrier) that the light barrier sends. But how do I do this with Arena? That a midi input signal is playing with each yes signal just one second of a very long clip?
Anybody got ideas?

Program the PI, to hold the note for 1 second after the barrier sends 0, and play the clips in Resolume in Piano mode?
