Ableton Link goes out of of sync? No Resync option.

Every time I use Ableton Link with a DJ I end up with Resolume's beats not matching the DJ. Their first track is great, Resolume shows that the first beat of their track is the first beat in Resolume:


Then half way through their set they play a track that changes downbeats and now their beat 1 is shown as my beat 2:

which causes all my effects that are supposed to pop on beat 1 to be off.

If I could push the Resync button I could fix this but as the manual states Resync is disabled with Ableton Link because they don't recommend it.

How do you fix this issue? I presume "technically" the issue is on the DJs side, they should be sending me the right Ableton Link data? But when they don't and they're 30 meters away on stage I need a fix on my end.

I confirmed in Traktor they can press this button which resets the downbeat in Resolume, I presume this is doing the "unrecommended" thing and resetting the the beat?:

But the DJ will have no idea when to press it because there's no visual feedback that they're out of sync with Link and there's another issue there seems to be a 1 beat delay when they press it

I've tested this with Virtual DJ and confirmed there's no way to reset the beat in it.

I'm not the first person with this issue, it was mentioned here as well but that thread ran dry. I tried taking Resolume out of Link and clicking Resync but as soon as I put it back in its out of time.

we do have the same issue. As long as it is not possible to set a negative delay or clock a resync button, the function is not usable.

Most DJ softwares and applications completely ignore the beat grids with Ableton link, that's where this issue comes from.
Generally it's not recommended to change the beat position in link, but we're looking at how we could offer the option.

A functioning resync option in Resolume when Ableton Link is active would sooooo fantastic.

This has been requested a handful of times.
I think having a 'local' resync would be the solution. Use the incoming LINK BPM and beat sync to drive the local internal clock, but have the 'local' BPM options to modify the incoming LINK signal and not push it out.
