Post by ichmirmich »

Hi,

How much would it cost to adapt Resolume for MAC?

Shall we donate to get Bart and Edwin make a MAC Version of Resolume?

Mac has plenty good VJ programs that are in a sense 'better' than resolume - by that I mean they have been around longer and also have been funded developed better because the digital arts community is stronger in the mac field.

If you have a mac, check out vidvox's software's - gridpro is still free beta and my mac pals rave about it.

For this reason, I'd rather Bart an Edwin continued to improve resolume for us PC users as it has the potential to really shine in the future, more than it already does, rather than spend time and money porting it to mac.

I'd rather donate money into resolume as-is because let's face it, although it's close, resolume is still essentially 'developing'.

Roll on Resolume 3.0

Just got mac osx x86 - will install it tonight and let you all know how that works. For those of you that don't know, osx x86 is a release of the mac operating system that will run on most x86 (pc) systems. From specs that I've read so far, this will be exciting. The fastest mac at the moment is 2.7ghz. osx x86 running a 2.7 ghz p4 booted %30 faster. The whole reason macs run faster is not the hardware, it's the os. (ie windows sucks) I'm putting osx x86 on a 3.4 p4 - in theory this will give me "the fastest operating computer EVER" Will post results with emulating resolume in it if it's possible...

alright - tested the osx for x86 install. It sucks - plain and simple. It has very limited driver support, and it doesn't detect my radeon 9700 mobility - in fact it dislikes it so much that it will only boot in safe mode, with no possibility of using the s-video out. There are problems with remaining logged in as an administrator as well. After the first reboot, it wouldn't let me log back in as an admin - needed to install programs. It just didn't accept my password - time and time again. Even after 2 fresh installations. Anyway, just a word to the wise - wait for the true release :) nad stick with amd/intel for resolume no matter what!@!
