Avenue 7.18 goes to black screen on Mac

All was working well until I started the app. It goes directly to a total black screen on MacBook Pro 2023. I replaced the prefs in the Mac Library, any other place to trash a pref that might have started this? I also reinstalled Avenue. Thanks.

Maybe I am asking you stuff that you already tried, but would it be possible that arena starts up and the output is in full screen mode on your mac monitor? try shift-command-d this should disable output. When you say your screen turns black does that mean that everything gets stuck as well? Or do things like command tap and show desktop gesture still work? Can you still get to the Finder or does your dock still come up? Or is it really stuck? What do you have to do to get back to normal?
