I'm generating my own animated clips in After Effects for use in Resolume. What is the best length to set them to for use with BPM sync when having the clip played back?
Currently, they are set to 10s throughout.
Should I set them 4, 8, 16 seconds and then make sure that all the animation within falls on four beats?

I'm a fan of 8 seconds

Re: Clip length for best results in Resolume
Thanks, what is the rationale for the 8 seconds? Just that 4 beats fit in nicely twice as whole seconds?
Re: Clip length for best results in Resolume
Most shows I work are house music (127 BPM) so that's about 8 seconds for 2 bars. Also, most scenes can be completed within 4-5 seconds so it's a way to get 2 cycles in before a loop.
60fps is a must so if the clips needs to be slowed, you can prevent some jitter this way.

Awesome, great tips. I was rendering out at 4K 30fps but I'll switch that up to 60fps
I'm also mostly around 126 - 130 BPM so that should be perfect!

Pro Tip
Render out at 1080p@60 and use Topaz Video AI to upscale. Quality from 1080p To 4K looks the same to me on my Blender renders and this will save you over 50% of your render time. I wouldn't do 720p to 4K as you can tell on that, but 1080p to 4K looks great. You might play around with it and see for yourself <3
If you're using Alpha, you might check to see if Topaz supports it now (it was on their to-do list about 6 months ago but I haven't checked back since), otherwise you will need to key that out back in Resolume. (Automask)
