I am having an issue with resolume constantly freezing and freezing the output. The only solution is to quit the process tree and restart.
I am left with a pile to clean up from previous users in the club.
There are 1000's of clips to go through. But many were put in as mp4's. I have seen when clicking preview on clips that it does do a.5 second freeze and then resumes.
I have looked at the resources and it's 5% cpu 38% ram and 26% GPU
I'm hardly using all the resources up.
Windows 11
Core i9 13900k
96gb ram
2 on board graphic ports used for operation screens
Nvidia 4070ti 2 outputs used for led screens
Edid on everything.
Still to many mp4's?
What is happening? Any advice?

Yeah, resolume doesn't really like MP4's. If you just want to play, then it should be OK but still, I would always recommend converting them to DXV, especially if you do any effects or scaling or whatsoever with the footage.
What you could do is open the media manager it is in the top menu under composition, then you have the option to collect all your media. Save it to one Folder. then from there I would convert them all to the DXV and throw out all the MP4 files from that folder. now if you start up your composition it will see missing files, but with the media manager, you can then reconnect them to the new versions. It is some work, but it will definitely improve performance a lot

Thabk you for that.
Yeah I have been doing batches of converts every few days.
But I am trying to get the staff to stop pouring in media unless they convert it first.
But I have just said lately that they need to stop until further notice.
I wish resolume would do automatic conversion before the clip is allowed to become active.
