Problem with converting files in Alley

Post by psychodalien »

Hello!
I've encountered a crash when dragging multiple *jpg files from Iphone (the size is 4032x3024 and vice versa) and then trying to convert them. Then I converted them to *png but faced the crash again.
I've already sent a report via Alley's crash report window.
The problem could be solved at least by converting with Adobe Media Encoder, but, apart from the unsolved "Match Frame" option absence in Media Encoder's interface, static pictures are treated as if they are 5 seconds long (that's Adobe problem) and it's a pain when you have many files because you can't change the duration for all files at once.
So the question is how to convert these files, because it's not the first time when Alley crashes during conversion of high resolution static images. I've encountered this on different machines with static images from different sources. I have quite a beefy machine (12g VRAM, 128GB RAM), but the issue persists. I've checked the Task Manager and it looks like Alley eats up all 12gigs when I hit "Queue" button and then crashes. I suppose if I add less files to the queue at once then it will cope with that. But I think Alley shouldn't eat up all GPU memory, anyway.

Can't find a report with your forum email in the inbox.

Do the conversions work in Alley if you try the files one by one?

I repeated the process so now there should be a report with my email.
Upd: I have different emails here and in my shopping account. Is that a problem? I've also recreated the problem with my current forum email.
Yes, if I convert them one by one or in small portions, then it works. As I mentioned before, if I try to convert larger quantity of files, then when I hit "Queue" button, Alley eats up all GPU memory and then crashes.
