Mac OS Sonoma
Mac OS Sonoma
Hey everyone. Waiting to update MAC OS until I know that it doesn't break everything. Is there any official word on functionality with Sonoma or has anyone been using it so far with Arena? Just getting started with this program and wanting to make sure that it is fully functional. TIA
Re: Mac OS Sonoma
I'm quite happy with Resolume 7 on Sonoma.
MP4 /h264 are quite unusable since Monterey, no trouble with DXV.

Re: Mac OS Sonoma
Good to know about Mp4 and H.265! on the last program I used for this I put everything in as a prores LT or proxy to prevent the computer from having to do a lot of decompression on the fly. It constantly crashed so I am trying resolume as my new video wall program this year. Are those acceptable formats or what is suggested? TIA

Re: Mac OS Sonoma
For the very best performance in Resolume you should use the Resolume DXV codec. It is by far the
fastest codec because Resolume can decompress the video frames on the GPU instead of the CPU. It gives a big bottle sizes, but handles very well.

Re: Mac OS Sonoma
Resolume decodes prores also natively, if you only play a few at a time, it should be no problem.

Re: Mac OS Sonoma
So Sonoma will be ok for Avenue 7.14 on a i9 MacBook Pro?
Planning to upgrade to 7.18.

Re: Mac OS Sonoma
I don't think we have i9 macbooks.
We're mostly on ARM macbooks, my intel macbook can't run Sonoma any more.
If you want to try it out make a copy of your Documents/Resolume Arena folder, install the new Resolume, and if you want to go back to the older Resolume, copy the docs folder back.

Re: Mac OS Sonoma
We upgraded anyway. So far, Avenue 7.18.2 seems to work with a 2019 MacBook Pro i9 running Sonoma 14.2.1.
