Slice Transform Effect Showing content on all slices

Post by mandoplan »

Resolume noob here, I've got an issue with the slice transform effect I don't understand. I'm attempting to assign slices to layers like we see here: https://vimeo.com/302221704

But the Slice Transform effect doesn't appear to be behaving like it does in the video. The slices I select and add to the slice transform effect get projected on all screens, and are not isolated to the slices themselves.

A couple of beautifully shot and narrated videos below.

Any help or input would be amaaaaaaaazing 🫣

hi somethings definitely going wrong here, cause this shoot work like you express, so could you take a screenshot or make a movie of your advanced output. on top there are two tabs the input selection and output transformation. i think the problem must be there somewhere...

I think I see what is going on.... on the input selection side, in the advanced output, you should select the slices, then right-click on them and select match output shape.. After that you can position those slices from wherever you want them to sample the image. Hope this helps you out... Let me know if you have any further questions....

I made you a little explainer movie

Also make sure the Input slices don't overlap on the composition.
ie, make your composition wider to have them all fit.

They will draw onto the composition canvas, and if they then sample the input from the same areas, they will show eachother's videos.

You can also have the layers route to specific slices, but then the composition prewiew will show a mess of the overlapping slices.
