severals crashes

Post by TomZee »

Hello,
I am using Resolume 7, with a new M3 max chip, and 128Go unified memory, and I encounter different series of crashes.
- When I try to open a project via the resolume icon that has been exported, the project never opens and I still have the spinning wheel, until I am forced to quit and I need to open the project via, Documents/Arena/Composition. If it's not that path, it's not working.

When I play, and I prepare my set, if I put more than 60/70 media, the software freezes (and crashes) spinning wheel forever... then forces to quit and reboot.

Once I was on a show (2 laptops 1 main, 1 spare (the 2 are exactly the same) one media - on the espare began to play randomly at high speed. Impossible to decrease the speed value, or pause it and restart it. All the commands were ineffective. I shut down Arena, and reopened 2 times. It was the same. LAter on the night, I tried again and then the media was played naturally, at normal speed.

Sometimes, in my media set, 2/3 media with High resolution (4K) was a bit hidden (didn't pay attention- usually I downscale all the media to 1080p and still have some 720p media. ) then it crashs (spinning wheel, etc...)

So my questions are: Do you have encountered the same problems? and find a solution to solve them.

Is there a maximum of media to put in a composition?

Is there a maximum size of média to play?

Thank you for your help.

Media converted to DXV?
Or is it mp4 / h264?

A mix of different codecs, when it crashs with some clips.
The problem with the DXV codec, is that I can't get quick preview of the clips when I am digging in my media files. With Mp4 or move I have access to the quick preview using the space bar.
Do you think that could be the only reason of those crash?
As I have the spinning wheel, It doesn't show any log report. Otherwise I would have send it to you.

Different codes will definitely be the problem. I know it's very annoying that you can't preview DXV files on a Mac but that's a apple problem not a resolume's problem. this little app will at least give you a thumbnail of your files again. I know it's not ideal, but it's more than a empty icon ;) making alle your files DXV will definitely help solving the problem

If I want to preview DXV files, I open them in Alley or Arena. Also a workaround, but this works quite well.
I hope this will help you out

You can preview the clips from the Arena files panel by double clicking them. Flies panel also has thumbnail option.
