Audio effects on live sound input

Post by olisorenson »

Hey folks,
Has this been implemented yet ?

I'd like to input a voice via a microphone, add Resolume's built in audio effects (Bitcrusher for example), then output the result in a live / direct performance.

Is this possible just from Resolume or do I need to go though Wire ?
I've not tried Wire yet...

Otherwise, can someone suggest a hack or workaround to achieve this,
maybe via NDI or OBS ? So far I've tried a few things but not much results...

thanks in advance :)

hi. I'm sorry but I don't think that's possible at the moment. There is no way to have a lifestream with audio coming into arena at the moment. Also not into wire by the way. The a few audio effects that are in arena are there more for footage that has audio.

Ableton = Audio
Resolume = Video
OBS is where you combine both.

Well, that sounds a bit overkill, using 3 apps simultaneously to have a bit of flanger and delay in my microphone.
I'll just use Res image FX only and plug the mic strait into pedals.

Shame, the non-live version of my project sounded awesome with the build-in Res audio tools,
and it took me zero time to patch it all together...

For a live performance there would be no need for OBS. You can output the audio from Ableton and the video from Resolume but yes, it would be way more efficient and less headaches to use pedals rather than Ableton.
