Feature Request: Fixture Editor

Post by fldvt »

Hey there!

I'd like to request changes to the fixture editor. More and more fixtures use round shapes or stacked circles. Or at least non linear or non square.
Would it be possible to create blank pixels? For example using the Cameo Evos W3: When having a matrix of pixels (like 5 rows and 5 columns) you could create the six pixel circle and the center one.

Code: Select all

-	3	-	4	-
-	-	-	-	-
2	-	7	-	5
-	-	-	-	-
-	8	-	6	-

One possibility could be by clicking on the pixel in the fixture editor preview to disable output of it, meaning skipping it from claiming dmx channels.

Thanks!

Lars

If we have this, we can make our own circles and/or rectangles.

We have an issue in our backlog for different fixture shapes, including curves for strips for example.

In the meantime, could you perhaps give an example of what you hope to achieve with this? It's a wash light, so wouldn't the individual pixel colors become unrecognizable anyway? Is it just so you can access a different addressing mode you need to access other settings?
I'm asking because adding something like 'repeat pixel n times' would be much easier than the custom shapes request. That could maybe already get you where you want to be?

Was working on a pixel mapping project recently. And at times, it would be great to option to sample every N pixels instead of every pixels. Example for a strip of 16x1. would be great if I could skip every 1 pixels and have the address auto span.
