MIDI device name randomly changing, causing shortcut issues

Hello,

i have the following problem: when using the Novation Launch Control XL, after today the device name in Arena is changing wildly. It used to be named simply "Launch Control XL" the past few months, but now there's a number in front of it, e.g. 2- Launch Control XL, 4- Launch Control XL, etc. When this occurs, the device name in the device manager is still "Launch Control XL". This completely destroys all of my MIDI Shortcuts and takes a long time to repair.
The issue might've been produced by installing the Novation USB driver or Novation Components, uninstalling them from the computer did not help.

Is there any way to a) force rename the device in Arena or b) quickly change the shortcut .xml? I have tried to simply replace "Launch Control XL" with "2- Launch Control XL" in the shortcut file, but in Arena the Input category stays greyed out, even though the name is correct, only the Output dropdown has been replaced properly.

Any help is appreciated.
