encode them with indeo or mjpeg codecs at around 80% at 320x240 or 640x480

If they are just random avi's grabbed off the net you are likely to have problems.

Hey sorry how do I Encode them ? I mean they used to work, Infact I got some of the clips of the bbc wed site for a VJ comp they were running..so ideally they should work.

Cheers

No it doesn't mean they should work, there are lots of different vj apps and these clips are supplied to be edited.

You need an editing program like like Premier or After Effects (not an editor I know) - there are alternatives but that's what I use.

I think you need to do a bit of googling and forum searching, especially with regards to getting a video on DVD...

Go to http://www.vjforums.com for a start

i'm using a laptop with an ati x700 video card. 2.3 causes a bluescreen of death about 70% of the time it tries to load. i have mpeg1 files that play very poorly (but same files are fine through other programs).

Uninstall and reinstall video drivers and then resolume if still happening - that happened to me and that fixed it

Don't use mpegs for resolume, .avi or QT with either Indeo or MJPEG codec.

try cinepak-codec

Post by orjo »

hey..

cinepak-codec avi's with a keyframe every single frame work best for me...
guess, i found this hint one day in the forum, i tried it - and i am satisfied with this solution til today ..

but resolume 2.3 still is quite unstable with my system..
