Output to three monitors

Post by wollice »

I need to output from a laptop to vga and c-video at the same time. My graphics card allows me to output to either vga monitor or video (tv, projector) but not at the same time. I need to have a preview monitor and output for big screen. Is this possible?

Thanks

i am not 100% sure, but i don't think that u can output via VGA and TVOUT the same time.
instead of an extra monitor, u can use the smaller window in the uper right corner of the resolume user interface as "preview monitor".
just enable it in the screen setup. set screen 1 to PREVIEW (i think it's switched off by default, isn't it?)

hope icould help!

thanks. I think I may need a video splitter, however it would work with the small preview.

Splitting your video-out is the simplest way to get an extra preview, especially as you can use it with any number of devices at hand (psx-lcd screens, dv-cam, old tv etc)

I find the in-screen preview in res perfect if i'm flying solo. I'd only bother with a separate preview if there was a hardware mixer and another vj involved.

Cheers.

I've been doing some ringing round and it sounds like a 'scan converter' is what I'd need.

However - it seems way too much hassle so the preview screen will have to do.

nope you don't need one of those

just a splitter like this...

or this if its phono's

...that splits your output so you can send one to the projector and one to your preview. Cheap as chips.
