Hi guys, because of the midi being a max of 127 no matter what the increments are it still very hard and DANGEROUS to map speed and be able to return it to default of 1.
A few options that would make clip speed this more usable would be:
1. x2 and /2 button that is midi mappable... easily done
2. Adding Midi Steps/range so 127/X (X is user assignable and odd numbers only) and then a multiplication factor option for that range "multiplication= Y" so if X was 5 you would have two ranges above and below the "speed=1" range that would occupy a range of 25.4 values each... so fairly wide range, the first range after the "speed=1" range would be 125% if Y=25% and the "second range" would be 150%
This would be a much safer and quicker in the show to return or find the default speed of 1 as there is a range it can land within rather than a particular value some where which still may end up having fractional increases.

1- is already possible, underneath clip speed there is duration, right from that there are /2 and *2 buttons you can map.

The "Duration" label is a bit misleading I assumed this would move the out point of the clip but I see the intention but could be under the same same dropdown as speed.
Having a separate cc button that returns the clip to 1 takes up valuable space on midi pad and doubles programming for every clip....
The 2. option described is for a CC dial (I was looking to have a dial for each layer). If you imagine the 300 Degree range (on an Akai APC) if the X value=5 this would split this 300 degree range into five sections of 60degrees of dialing. If we assume for arguments sake the APC cc dial starts at 0 degrees then 150 derees is pointing up and 30 degrees of that either side would still be the "Speed=1" range. The multiplication factor is applied to each 60 degree range after this. Then you can BANG something right up and find a happy balance between your X factor and multiplication Y factor to get speed and back to 1 safely.
