Corporate Media Server Hardware Options

Hi All

I have been ding server work since 2017 and planning on upgrading the units in our warehouse.

The current PC's are quite aged but performance is still good enough for smaller screens.

We generally build 3mm LED walls between 3840 - 5880 wide by 1008 / 1152 high (cabinet size dependent). Obviously try and keep it within a 4k output... Might have slices of PPT's go out to secondary screens.

We are using BM DeckLink Mini Recorder HD's and DeckLink Mini Recorder 4K currently, adding USB devices if we need additional inputs.

Some questions about input cards:
The BM DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder and DeckLink Duo 2 looks like it might be better options for our needs on the next build. How is the experience with these cards and Arena? We basically use arena as a multi input switcher aswell.

Component wise were looking at the following:
Ryzen 7800X3D / 7950X3D
Radeon RX7900
32Gb Ram
Samsung 990 Pro
Gigabyte Eagle B650 ATX MB

Get a CPU with plenty of PCIe lanes.

If you have independent screens that don't make up a single screen (mosaic) then SDI output cards are a great choice. If you're trying to stitch together a screen, Quadro cards with a sync card will be needed.

We send 4k to Nova 4k senders or processors over hdmi fibre. Its reliable and simple.

We grabbed some 4070 supers as they are beefy enough. Going with 7800x3d’s as its a good match for the 4070’s..

Just stuck on capture cards…

Decklink quad hdmi’s are on the list. Are they working properly with arena 7.20 and upwards?

Techs are also mentioning Elagto Cam Link pro. Do these quad card work as well?
