Hi folks,
I'm using the Midi Fighter Twister and it in general works wonderfully with Resolute (7.22.1). However, I seem to be unable to midi map Pause, < and > in the Clip section. When I map the Pause button, pressing the physical button on the Midi controller toggles between Play Forward and Play Backward. The same happens, when I map to either of the other playback controls (< and >).
Any idea?

I just did a test with my Twister and it all works as expected.
What MIDI parameters are you actually sending from the Twister and what are the MIDI settings inside of Resolume?

Thanks for your response! Here we go. I've attached screenshots of my settings.

I mean the MIDI settings on the actual MIDI mapping, not the preferences.

Re: Midi mapping to Pause / Play > / Play < does not work
Just now saw, that the Pause button in the Clip section is linked to "Composition Selectedclip Transport Position Behaviour Playdirection" - which is also what I'm seeing. When I press the midi button, the playing direction changes. It's weird, since I've clearly selected the Pause control in Arena.mowgli wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2024 11:30 I mean the MIDI settings on the actual MIDI mapping, not the preferences.
I cannot find Pause, >, < action, though. Can you probably provide what's set on your machine, since you've got it working?

You're mapping a CC
that has a value range of 0-127,
on 3 options, reverse, pause, forward, the CC value range would be divided into 3 equal ranges.
turnig your cc dial to the middle should pause the clip this way.
The button push on the Twister would produce a note, which could be assinged to do pause action specifically.

Re: Midi mapping to Pause / Play > / Play < does not work
Thanks, super helpful. I've know temporarily mapped the rotary knob - instead of the push button - to all three UI controls in Resolume (<, Pause, >) and for sure, it works as you've said. Turning the rotary encoder to the left plays the clip backwards, to the right forward and in the center position, the clip pauses.Zoltán wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2024 14:03 You're mapping a CC

Now, I'd love to have a push button to always pause the clip. What would I have to map, to achieve that?

Re: Midi mapping to Pause / Play > / Play < does not work
If you right click on the shortcut, you can duplicate it and then push the encoder to map it to the push button and in the midi control section select only the stop function. that should do it...

Generally (although not always so it can get confusing!) it's best to use notes rather than CC for buttons.
You have full control over what the Twister is sending from the MF Utility.
