Wire doesn't receive MIDI

I'm trying to make a patch in Wire with built-in MIDI.

I'm using a Befaco CV Thing to send MIDI to Wire from my modular synth.
I can see the CV Thing in Wire preferences and I can select it but nothing comes through. I've looked at the MIDI monitor and nothing's there.

The CV Thing works perfectly fine with Resolume.

Resolume tells me that it can't connect to the CV Thing when the CV Thing is connected to Wire so at least I know there's some connection between Wire and the CV Thing.

Wire's MIDI connection works fine with my MIDI Fighter Twister.

Any clues, tests, troubleshooting I can do?

I guess you did the basic things like unplugging and replugging the device or restarting Wire?

Does it make a difference if only Wire is running and Arena/Avenue are closed?

Do you get the expected MIDI messages in Arena/Avenue with that device if Wire is closed?

I had tried everything you suggest.
The device works perfectly well with Arena.
New day and it all works now.
I hate computers.

Ok, yeah sometimes these modern computers do weird things.
Maybe the Wire log gives a hint what went wrong, you can find it here:

Windows:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Resolume Wire\Logs

Mac:
/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Resolume Wire/Logs
