hey guys,

im using a capture card and it works fine...
its a pinnacle pctv rave (69 euros).
and i use a marmitek gigavideo 70 aswell (119 euros)
setup is as follows....
mini dv camera (sony) via a marmitek cableless video/dvd sender (so u dont have cables running all over the place and u can place the camera anywhere within a radius of 75 meters). that sends the videosignal to the marmitek receiver that is connected via composite to the pctv rave card... and the capture card is in the generators under capture devices.
when u set the input and output resolution to 320/240 (in the generators/capture devices) all works like a charm...

by the way the remote video sender is hooked up to a battery i bought so u can even walk arround with the camera if u like (video gets a bit shaky when u move fast because the sender is searching for the receiver all the time, but it works for me)...

good luck!

hi, just bought a DVC 80, dazzle, and in vjcentral in the hardware reviews it says it works.
i tested with different resolutions in the capture part and I used rgb 24 and rgb5000 and all the others, but it doesnt seem to save the settings.

i used live capture once witha webcam and it worked ok. what should i do.

The winnov videum 2 capture cards with seperate breakout box is best i've found with resolume, not the cheapest but had some good results and the breakout means you have multiple inputs to play with, ie a cam dvd and vhs if you choose too

It might be, that there are problems with using capture cards wich have an onboard compression chip, like the rainbowRunner and Matrox eTV. It's very hard to use this special API for this cards, cause if any prog requests a videostream from these cards they get an encoded one, but they need a raw video stream. So the best solutions are cheap TV-cards. Like the Win-TV series (I don't now if the novas work, cause they also have an encoder onboard). But all cards with the BT8x8 chips should work....

the dazzle dvc 80 is cheap and has not encoding chip on it... its just raw video... the thing is that it works fine with everything else... even premiere which the company says it doesnt support.

but when i get to resolume something happens and it can't show anything...
acording to vjcentral's review it should work..

and if it gets to work its probably the best solution because of price, and portability.

ST-V

does anyone have it?

yes .. also because the next version will support freeframe and there are already 2 live input plugins for freeframe available.

I have a vid input on my prostar lap.. capture driver works great.. HOWEVER once i drag it to a channel - and then replace that chanell with a clip i cannot bring back my capture driver (a error message comes up saying capture driver in use).. this sucks cuz then i have to close resolume and re-open it.. and when i do that i loose my midi effect maps from some other bug :(

i got the dazzle dv 80 to work.
i kept getting white screen too, but i cleared my HardDrive a bit and defragmented it. closed all programs, and it seems to work a bit now. i think it might have something to do with memory or hd space or something of the sort.

hi stark,
it has probably to do with the bitdepth your monitor is in. Try switching between 16 and 32, 24 bitdepths. And see when you get the white screen, some cards work only on certain bitdepths in resolume.
that's not normal behaviour i know.
cheers
