strobing screen advanced fullscreen windows 8

first of all i thank you for taking your time to read this.

My problem is that i just bought a new laptop sony vaio: SVE14125CLW with Core™
i5-3210M, 2.5GHz,
AMD Radeon™ HD 7550M, 1GB,
4gb RAM,
and WINDOWS 8,



The thing is that I have read the post named "strobing screens in advanced/fullscreen - catalyst 12.6"
posted in this forum, i got the same problem, fullscreen output display makes both screens strobe, windowed mode doesnt do it.

i tried to fix this following the instruccions, but it seems this only works in windows 7 because you can check "disable desktop composition" and "disable windows themes" in compatibility in this OS, but it doesnt work in wndows 8 beacuse the OS needs to have this functions to be active all the time!!!.

i cant downgrade to windows 7 for now beacuse the model of my laptop is too new that it doesnt have the drivers that support the same functions.

what can i do?? im starting a small business and i wanted to buy the full version but i need this problem solved first to make sure that i can use this laptop that i bought specially for work...

i nee resolume working fine in this laptop :/ help me, and again, thanks for reading me. Merry christmas

Did you already tried the catalyst 12.10?

yes, I have installed catalyst 12.10, it was installed when i got my laptop, should i select some special feature of this driver???? or all the options preset?? resolume still strobing my screens until crash..

First as I had this strobing issue the answer was the 12.6 Beta Driver but for now 12.10 also works fine.

Maybe you give 12.6 beta a chance?!

Ohh..I'm sorry. not 12.6 beta...my fault... I had good experiences with catalyst_12.9_beta

thanx for your support guys, a have installed catalyst 12.09 beta but its still strobing.. do you think its more like the OS problem?? is there another solution that doesnt involve video driver'?

hmm... IMO this flickering issue has something to do with the AMD 7XXX Series...the OS and with resolume itself.

I'm on Win 7 with a 7970M and only had this flicker issue with Resolume. With the 12.10 catalyst most of the flickering is gone on my system....but sometimes when I click on the ARENA dropdown menu in Resolume it still creates 2-4 little flicks...and while I use Resolume ALL popup windows of Resolume or windows itself do not close instantly when I click [X] (2-5Sek)...looks like an Windows Aero bug....but it's only while Resolume is running. It's not very nice...but nevertheless..Resolume runs stable.

I hope that the Resolume guys have an eye on this....

We have an eye on this, we even bought a AMD 7970 just for testing this. However, we have never experienced any strobing issues with this card.

We understand how terribly frustrating this must be if your card is strobing, but it's not possible for us to check for a fix if we cannot see if we can't see what's broken.

If someone has some magical Aero/Win 7/ATI driver combo that results in this strobing issue, we'll be all over it like a bad rash.

lol yeah cosmowe meanwhile im searching in many different sites trying many things to solve this.. but windows 8 seems to be unhelpful by nature.. D: i want to do some crazy video mapps to start working..
