Advanced Output: Linear Points not linear distortion?

Post by dsolve »

Hello

I tried to map a Pyramid, looked at from the front. In theory, i thought i can just take the center point and move it to where ever the peak of the Pyramid is. It looks like that even thoug i have set the point mode to linear, it actually distorts it in a curve.... look at the Attached picture.. this is not the way it should behave if i use linear...

When you click 'add points', the point in the middle is not the only point that gets added. There are four points added on the edges as well (in order for warping to work, you always need to cut your video into rectangles).

When you then only move the middle point without moving the outer points, you will warp the video. Notice that although the line is curved, it still is on the correct grid points.

If you want the lines to stay straight, you'll need to adjust the four 'edge points' as well.
