3d mapping for wedding

Post by bh_rat18 »

Hello everyone

its a 3d mapping project for wedding
need some technical help from seniors i have attached picture of stage design

its 80 feet width long stage height is 50 feet

my question is

1 how many projectors i should use for mapping its a outdoor event and their will be lights for other things also so 20k is good or 40k ?

2) what is minimum distance should i keep for projectors from the stage and what height i stack the projectors ?

3) i'm using watchout for projectors and resolume arena for projection file

please suggest me or correct with this project

The image you provided is not helping much. It is too small, but considering the size of the man in the center of the image, is your projection going cover the entire stage, from one side to the other?
That´s huge, indeed. There´s also a lot of detail, I mean, different shapes.
So, it all depends on how they interact and how you plan to produce each content.
I´d use several projectors, and yes, Watchout is 'a' solution for that kind of control. But Watchout has its own timeline and screen controls, so I don´t see a practical way of using Arena and Watchout in the same projection pipeline.
20K projectors should do the job, but distance is relative, according to the required number of projectors to cover the entire stage.
For a start, I´d dare to say that you have a budget issue ; ) Its an expensive and workfull production for a simple wedding.
Good luck on that!
