Scale or attenuate incoming OSC

Post by 0x80 »

For an AV gig I'm planning to send signals from my music composition to Resolume using OSC. My mate will do the visuals and we want to be able to keep a certain degree of freedom on both sides. I want to give him the final control over whether his stuff reacts to my signals or not. For example when I control a parameter in his dashboard with 0.-1., it would be nice if he could somehow cut me off or attenuate my OSC signal.

I can cook something up by mapping some knobs on his controller back to the source of my OSC, so that he controls my final signal output level, but it takes time of course. Is it currently possible in Resolume to scale or attenuate incoming OSC data before it is applied to a parameter?

Although you can set ranges for parameters, this is more meant as a setup option. To do it with by a changing amount on the fly is not possible I'm afraid...
