Hi guys,
I am looking to create a system which will allow me to mix several layers of full HD (1080p - 1920x1080) footage and images, along with 4 incoming live camera feeds, and output them to 4 separate 1920x1080 outputs (4 slices on one huge comp).
I am undecided as to whether this would be better achieved with a single machine, or 2 machines. With 2 machines, I would not only have to get an additional capture card, but also an SDI splitter for the camera inputs. On the flip side, with a single machine, I would need a series of graphics cards that would give me 5 separate outputs (4 to the projectors, and one as the control screen). I know ATI do a 6 out card, but 2GB graphics memory which the card has doesn't strike me as nearly enough...
Any thoughts appreciated!
Thanks,
Martin
One or 2 Computers Running Resolume?
Re: One or 2 Computers Running Resolume?
i would suggest one Computer with enough outputs (simply put extra graphic cards in your system to get more outputs).
the problem is you need all 4 cameras at the same time, you need 4 video inputs...
i would suggest a asus maximus V extreme z77
here you got one additional thunderbolt port (for blackmagic intensity shuttle tb edit) and enough slots for internal graphic cards and blackmagic video grabbers....
there are also boards without thunderbolt, you will need at least 6x pci-e (16x or 1x) slots on your motherboard.
edit: also i would suggest nvidia cards, seems the ati drivers are not always the best.
