"Ignore Column" doesn't ignore Solo-ing

Post by yomaceo »

If I put an audio track in a layer and give it "Ignore Column Trigger" the track is still interrupted if I hit "S" to solo another layer.

Is there any other way I can play an audio file in Resolume and have it completely protected from any manipulation I do with the video layers? This is sort of a show-stopper for me.

Thanks,

The simplest way that comes to mind is that you can use a completely isolated layer where you keep only your audio file and keep your video files in layers below that . You keep the audio fader of that layer at 100%.

Since the audio file's layer does not have any video clips, any manipulations done to your video layers wont affect the audio.

Thanks for the response arindamliveguitar!

Unfortunately that's exactly what I am doing -- I have the audio track in its own layer. It's still that case that hitting "S" on any other layer makes the audio layer go silent, even with "Ignore Column Trigger."

Ignore Column Trigger only tells the clip or layer to ignore the column trigger ( what's in a name, right? ), it has no effect on solo'ing or anything else related to that layer.

You're probably after a layer lock feature. We've had requests for layer locks before, but the problem is that this means many different things for different people. For instance in your case, you want the layer to ignore everything completely. The majority of the people will probably want to lock a layer so it can't be triggered, but still have control over the opacity.

The moment we find an elegant solution for that, we'll make it happen. For the time being, if you don't want to have solo affect a certain layer, press bypass for the others instead.
