Running Two live feeds with two video capture cards

Post by Stevejhb »

Hello everyone,

A few months ago I downloaded Resolume and used it for an event at my school where I used a Hauppauge Video Capture card to get a live feed from my video camera which is a Sony Handycam. It worked very well and now I want to look at adding a second live feed. I was thinking of now buying a USB capture card with S-Video and Composite inputs similar to the one I have already accept it runs through a USB as opposed to a built in card. Would it be possible to run these two live feeds using the two different capture cards and if so, how would I go about setting it up.

Thanks in advance!!

PS: I have attached a picture of the internal card I already have and the USB card I want to buy

I am somewhat used to the EasyCap.
EasyCap has different models available, like (+, 60+, 30+) something like that.
If you are running a mac, you must be sure that your model is compatible.

EasyCap is simple and works pretty fine with Avenue/Arena. But I can never get 30fps, I mean real time smooth capture. There´s allways some sort of minimal delay and sometimes some loss of resolution.
Never used two. My guess is that it should work.

while it may work I wouldn't trust a USB capture card...seems too slow for decent quality video

really depends on the resolution you're trying to get into the system...for something 800x600 you'd probably be ok, but I definitely wouldn't try HD

there's some really cheap, good, pci solutions out there, black magic makes a pci capture card that's $145
