Resolution

Post by Djtwok »

I´m working at different output resolutions depending on the event i am playing at and the given resolution from the beamers. I.e. i´ve played at a club where the output was 1080p and at one where it was set to 720p. My question, what setting should i use for my clips. They are 1080 and some are 480. When saving a composition you can set the desired resolution to work at (can see it in the screenshot attached), what should this be ? All at 1080 so the clips are scaled down if the resolution is lower ? Or should the composition resolution be set at the clip resolution ?

I would simply scale down all my clips and save as a copy.
Create a new composition - a copy of the 1080 one, but set to the lower res and replace all footage with the low clips.
This way, no matter what is your current setting, just load the proper composition.

If your computer can handle 1080p, you can just leave the content and composition at 1080p, and do your downscaling via the Advanced Output or just by going fullscreen to a lower resolution.
