I have a MacBook Pro 15" Retina Mavericks running Resolume Arena 4.1.8. I'm new to mapping and resolume so I'm sure this is an easy fix. I'm trying to take an audio source and bring it into my laptop so I can start matching visuals to a beat but my laptop only has a headphone jack. In the system preferences under sound, the input only says internal mic. Is there anyway to get a line in? I'm guessing it has to be usb somehow? right now i'm trying to test out with playing music out of my iphone mini cable into laptop but got nothing.
I did search but couldn't find exactly what I needed.
Newb needs help with audio in
Re: Newb needs help with audio in
As an alternative to using an audio source, you could use a clip within your composition and select the Audio FFT>Composition option on any of the parameters of the video clips you want to match to the music.
Re: Newb needs help with audio in
Macs without line in are another great work from Apple. I suggest using an external soundcard with inputs.

You could try routing internal audio with Soundflower.
