I would like to see an "Direct Trough" Function for Videos. Let´s say I´m playing my Video Set and for what reason ever I would like to play a video which hasn´t been analysed by Resolume or been converted to DXV. Now it would be nice if i can play this video without "analysing" it by Resolume just by clicking and play, also without the possibility to do effects or something on the video.
The background: When playing on a gig sometimes i want to pause for a few minutes, and to fill this time i play pre-created video mixes which have length from 30-60 Minutes. If i try to import such big files in Resolume it crashes (if its a Divx Video), converting such long videos to DXV takes to much space. So far i have to start Quicktime Player.
Direct Trough for Video
Re: Direct Trough for Video
DXV not divx
Possible solutions:
-PJPEG codec
-Another computer and a blackmagic card
-Syphon if using a Mac
-Setup a layer just for extended mixes and setup a slice dedicated to it. Make sure the slice ignores the layer opacity. This should bypass any effects on the composition.

Re: Direct Trough for Video
There is no such thing as 'direct through' for video. Resolume will always have to open and analyze a file in order to play it.
If you want to play long video files, H264 .movs are a better choice than DivX .avis. You will see a big performance drop, but as long as you're only playing a single layer, it should be fine.
