Strobe Fade incorrectly maps to MIDI

I'm trying to map the Fade toggle on the Strobe effect to a button on my midi controller. It looks like it is mapped correctly in mapping mode, but after I hit "Stop" and try to toggle it, the Hue parameter ends up changing instead.

Hmmmm. Works for me.

App Midi map only remembers that it's mapped to parameter X of effect Y, not the actual parameter and effect name. It's a bit of a long shot, but it could be that Resolume is confused, and somehow thinks the Hue param is the third parameter, and not Fade (since Fade was added somewhere as an update).

Does it also happen when you start with a blank composition and a fresh instance of the Strobe effect?

Ok it works on a different computer.

I had copied my user Documents > Resolume Arena 4 > Presets > VFX folder to the problem machine, completely overwriting the destination. Could that be the problem? The source folder structure with all my presets was also from 4.1.8 so I'm not sure why there would be a discrepancy in the Strobe effect.

What's the recommended process for copying full VFX folders between machines if that's what was causing the issue?

Well, what you did is the recommended process. Updates to plugins that result in changes in parameter count are so few and far between, and we actually did not expect this to cause trouble.

I'm more inclined the problem is with the midi map file, not the VFX preset. Does it also happen when you start with a new App Midi Map (Prefs > Midi > New )?
