Multiple analog inputs?

Post by Zoltán »

Anyone using multiple BMD intensity shuttles?
I need to get 2-3 analog camera sources into laptop, on usb3.
I have read that with same type(driver) usb webcams can not be used together, only one is recognised.
Is that the case with 2 BMD intensitys too?

or any other recommendations for multiple input?

I have an easycap, 1 channel that works with resolume IF it is plugged in before computer startup, so not the most reliable solution, but another would not work because of the same driver.
To anyone who has a 4 ch easycap, are the sources mixed together into a single stream?

Are you mixing the sources or sending them all to different elements?

maybe both, so I would like to have the inputs as individual sources in arena.

Webcam capture is handled by the OS, so if the driver is already busy, we can't access the second stream anymore.

Blackmagic capture is handled by ourselves, so we're not reliant on any outside sources aside from the BM box itself. As long as your computer can recognise multiple BM boxes, you can use them simultaneously in Resolume.

Disclaimer:
Native support for BM devices doesn't mean that we can make stuff magically appear that's not there to begin with.

Take care that even though your computer may have multiple USB3.0 inputs, they could share the same USB hub inside. This has bitten me in the ass before. So check with BM or your computer vendor first if your computer can recognise the multiple BM boxes. A good way to test is if if BM's own software can't do it, neither can Resolume.

We've gotten crap for this in the past, where people got mad with us because Resolume couldn't capture a source, even though BM's own software couldn't capture it either and the problem was clearly with the hardware / signal flow.
