Live Drawing Help
Live Drawing Help
I was wanting to add a live drawing component to my shows and was wondering what the easiest way to do this would be? I'm using a PC Laptop running Resolume Arena 5. I also have an Asus Vivotab (Windows) and a Samsung Galaxy Note (Android) tablets and was hoping I could use one of those for an input device. Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated!
Re: Live Drawing Help
Yes, I was able to draw directly to the big screens, using a tablet or a cellphone as an input device, but outside Resolume´s environment so far.
I bought and used the EZ Cast device.
You can use the EZ Cast app to mirror your screen device. Once connected, just load the chosen drawing app and start drawing.
The EZ Cast receiver has an HDMI connector, which you can use as input in many screen devices or use a video capture device to capture its input (haven´t tested that way yet)
Yes, there´s a small delay, but it is ok.
Bellow... one video showing me and a friend testing it using a Samsung Tablet and the EZ Cast connected to a VideoWall system.

On a Macbook Pro: Photoshop CC 2015 > Syphoner 1.3 >R esolume Arena 5 via Syphon input
That's with my trackpad but it would look much better using an input tablet!
I don't know if Spout will work with Photoshop on Windows but you could easily do the same using AfterEffects and I know there are some plugins available. You could also use TouchDesigner's Photoshop in TOP
@Pfelberg, if you put your youtube link between , it'll show directly in your post.

Re: Live Drawing Help
@Oaktown - thanks for the great tip. For a beginner like me, how do you add Syphoner as a clip? I don't have Syphon as an available source...
Re: Live Drawing Help
On a PC you could use NDI scan converter to grab a program window to NDI , and NDI to Spout to get it into Resolume 5.
