Matrox Triplehead2Go Digital SE can't configure

Post by turiel »

I bought a Triplehead2Go Digital SE.
I installed the driver for it and the Matrox PowerDesk software.
I connect the Triplehead2Go to my 1920x1080 screen Windows 7 notebook via DisplayPort, then connect the Triplehead2Go to 3 1024x768 video projectors via DVI→HDMI adapters and high quality HDMI cables.

What do I need to do from here on? The video tutorials and manuals make it seem like it will be automatic or self-evident, but it isn't.
I want either that each projector be considered a separate display or have a desktop extended between the three.

Control Panel:

Does anything need to be done here?

When I click on Matrox PowerDesk → Multi Display Setup → Wizard it warns me to connect the displays, while they are already connected. What do I need to do in Matrox PowerDesk to set up my projectors, if anything?

Your Matrox TH2G connected with the USB cable and the light is green, right?

Your DVI/HDMI adapters could be at fault and not pass the EDID from your HDMI cable. Do you have a way to test with on DVI monitor and a DVI cable?

Since DVI and HDMI are pin to pin and there is no conversion, I'd recommend using a good DVI to HDMI cable.

Also, the TH2G will show up as one monitor in your control panel not three.

So do you mean the triplehead should have been detected as a display automatically in the Control Panel? It didn't. I've tested both the adapters and cables without the triplehead, they work fine.
As for the light, there's a green led inside the device visible from the ventilation holes, but the led next to the DVI port is RED. Yes, USB cable is connected.

Can you detect your TH2G with Matrox Power Desk?

Do you have the most current firmware/driver for your TH2G?

That light is red.

I installed the firmware (driver is same, right? Theres only two downloads, "Firmware Utility" and "PowerDesk software suite" on the website, http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/suppo ... ad/latest/ ) again today from the Matrox website.

I don't know how I can tell if the device is being detected. This is what the program shows:

Is your USB cable connected to the MB directly?

You might want to contact Matrix directly for support.

MB: motherboard.

try to go to advanced in GXM setup and manually set your resolutions.
then restart windows to apply them.
edit: Mode management is what to look for

Your Matrox needs 5V from the USB port to run so make sure it's getting enough power.

About the USB port power: It's a standard usb port of a HP notebook with 5V and max 500mA power.

Might something have gone wrong during installation of firmware? I dont see it in the list of programs so I could uninstall and then reinstall it.
