Audio and video in linear projection. Combined or not?

Post by luckyhercul »

Hi there.
I am new to Resolume Avenue so I have few questions if someone could help me.
I am working on something with linear projection, animation with characters on the scene (theatre show).

As I understood, to get good quality, best way is to separate audio (wav) and video (dxv) from each other and not to combine them in one video file with sound.
There should be at least 15 video files with sound in timeline and some should be played one after another(linear storytelling) and some should be controlled and played in interaction with actor.

What is best way to play them and control all of this because I have actor on scene so control is very important to me?
By triggering clips, audio and video with same length in same column?
To combine audio and video in same file?

It is very linear and I do not have any loops at all.
Hope this is not confusing.

Thanks

People generally advise to separate audio and video for a variety of reasons. Most of these are not show critical and are mostly concerned with timing.

If organisationally it's easier for you to keep them together in a single file, it's perfectly fine to do so. In our own example composition, audio and video files are also merged together.

If you like, you can also hold down Shift while dragging an audio file over a video file to merge them.
