Resolume Crashing My computer

Hi everyone!
I have been using resolume for over a year now but only recently have had issues with it. Ever since i upgraded from 10.6 to 10.9 (I need to run logic pro for school, and it is a 10.9 or higher program) i have had issues with resolume. most commonly, the program, after about an hour of use will crash my computer and when it comes back up, resolume would crash it again every 30 minutes. The only way I have been able to undo this is if i restore my entire computer to before when it crashed.

Im running a 2011 13 inch macbook pro, OSX 10.9.5, 16 gb ram, 1 tb harddrive
Resolume version 4.5.1

Any feedback would be infinitely useful.

is your laptop overheating maybe?

That may have been the initial issue but afterwards i am carefully monitoring the temperature and i am still crashing. I guess my laptop with its integrated GPU just isn't cutting it anymore.

Any other issues that may be causing this?

how is the crash, os hangs or restarts, any mesages etc?
does the whole os crash / hang, or just resolume?
