How did you guys come up with the name Resolume and why was R3 called Avenue?

I don't know, I was busy hunting bisons and drawing on cavewalls when Bart and Edwin started working on Resolume 1.

We wanted a name that combined an audio and visual reference so "Reso" is from resonance (audio) and "lume" is from lumen, a quantity of light.
We also wanted the name to be easily pronouncable/understandable in a noisy club/concert environment but did not succeed in that
With version 3 we wanted to make a distinction between the company name and the product name so Resolume became be the company name and Avenue the product name. And then came Arena and who knows what other products there will be in the future ...
