Disable Waveforms on Thumbnails

Post by westbam »

Since there is no global 'disable audio' option for all the VJs that don`t use it, because they VJ over music, and are not playing the music, (I had to set a fake audio driver to prevent my laptop making any weird noises when i play a clip with audio).

Is there any way to disable the Audio Waveforms in the thumbnails? I fell for the "ow.. this is a cool purple wave" a few times on my last gig, and besides, it really clutters my decks.

Just don't get why the audio part is so prominent in the interface, while I know a lot of VJs (all I met) that are not using it anyways. The Audio Volume slider and the Waveform thumbs and the default audio effects. I know, barking against the wrong/old tree, but one can always try.

You can remove all the audio controls by turning off Show Audio Controls:

You can mute all the audio that's playing by turning down the master volume:

You can remove the audio and the waveform from a clip by hitting the X in the clip's audio info tab.

Can be very handy a setting's option to completelly skip the audio (I mean, the waveform generation on load).
I've spended a lot of time demuxing clips to avoid that red bar

The Point is you have to X-it on each clip again.

+1 for a "deleat all audio content" ;)

The waveform over the clip thumbnail sometimes makes it impossible to identify the clip.
Maybe combine with the view "disable audio controle" also all audio features in the clips will hide.
