Clip playback mode to remain the same?

Post by Alvis_Cortex »

Hi All

here is the scenario:
I change the playback mode on clip A to Random but once I go back to the same clip A (after having played a different clip on the same layer) the playback mode is back to Play >rather than keeping the Random mode on. Has this always been like that? is there a work around?

The funny thing is that if, when playing clip B, I just preview the clip A it does preview with the Random mode On but once I click on it (in order to replace clip B on that layer) it starts on Play mode.

Thoughts? suggestions?

Thanks

Your clip should be in R mode when you go back to it!

How are you triggering the clip?

It happens regardless how I trigger clip. Whether I click on it or if I use a pad on my APC.

But it seems to be a problem with my composition file - probably it's corrupted? - as after creating a new comp the clips behave normally (play mode is maintained after changing clips). But If I open that corrupted comp again the clips do not behave as they should anymore.

Thanks again Oaktown

You've got your Global Direction buttons pinned.

https://resolume.com/manual/en/r5/compo ... n_controls

Just left-button/regular click the global play forward button, and things will be back to normal.

I had no idea we had this feature, thanks Joris for pointing that out and fixing my issue :)
