Auto Pilot

Post by pmbarber »

Hello. I am new here to the forum and new to Resolume. I have Resolume Arena 5 and have a halloween project I am working on, but need some help. I will be projecting a Halloween display on 6 different windows on my home. I know how to map the videos to a specific area of my home, but my issue is how to play the different projections at different times. If I put each clip on it's own layer they all play at the same time. This would be OK, but each clip has it's own audio. Obviously 6 clips with sound playing at one time doesn't work.

If I put the clips all on the same layer they would play at different times automatically using auto pilot, however, they would all project in the same area. Is there anyway to set each layer to play at different times?

Second issue. All of my projections will be projected to a window of the home. Will the glass in the windows cause the quality to be poor? If so, what can I do, other than covering the windows with some kind of cloth? Thank you in advance for you responses.

You can have them all on the same layer, but with different positions. Then they can appear in different places on the house.

As for the projections, you really need to experiment. Having pale coloured curtains behind the glad can work, or it can make it worse!

Hello and thank you. I tried putting the clips all on the same layer, but for me they all played in the same position (window) when I did this. I must a messed something up. Any pointers on how to do this?

using the size (width-height) and position controls in the clip properties you can position your clips to different parts of your composition
https://resolume.com/manual/en/r5/clips ... properties
then you can map your slices from these areas in the advanced output, slice input from composition.
for 6 videos you could do a 3x2 grid of videos.

Hi thank you. I will try option one first as option two if I'm understanding correctly would have to be triggered manually.

Thank you soooo much! This worked perfectly. I spent countless hours this past weekend trying to find a solution to this.
