OSC preview bug

Post by cvanhoose »

I ran into an issue with 5.1.3 Arena when previewing a clip.
The issue is when sending OSC to a backup machine. Master control performs normally. Backup machine, receiving, has the issue.
When selecting the clip name to view in the preview monitor, the receiving machine rescales the position and size.
See attached video link:

Thanks,
CVH

With the insane amount of data that needs to be sent when doing a clip update, there's too many of these little gotchas to consider OSC as a feasible solution for master/slave setups.

Every update we chip away at one or two issues behind the scenes. We still have a long way to go, and it's not even clear if OSC will ever become reliable enough for this purpose.

Understood. It works as a great solution for me. Which isn't an issue because it's a backup and that would never go to the screens because it triggers correctly.

Honestly it's amazing how well it works in current form.
