howdy - this is to serve as a search result for anyone who needs it in the future. if you have any supporting info, please feel free to post it, but this is not necessarily a request for assistance.

i'm using a Latitude E6420 which has 2 vid cards - the nvidia nvs 4200m (which you'll want to use in Resolume) and the Intel HD Graphics 3000 (that you don't want to use).

i had a hell of a time getting Resolume to select and use the 4200m. upgraded drivers, fiddled with the nvidia settings, selected Arena to use the Nvidia -- nothing. the log still read Intel graphics driver. i was getting a lot of crashes using this, while leaving Arena on and looping for a long time.

ultimately i dove into Bios and disabled Optimus. this seems to have done it. Device Manager no longer shows Intel Graphics Driver in the Display Adapters section, and the Arena log shows that it's using the 4200m.

i am now running a test to see if Resolume crashes using this setup. let's hope!

anyway, i thought it might be helpful for this information to get dropped into the forums with the appropriate search terms.
