Midi Controller Velocity Feedback

Post by Zenithik »

Hello all!

I know this topic has been gone over plenty of times but it seems most are from 2014 or older. I wanted to make sure the team knows there are still people out there who want this! :D

Here is my suggestion, about as simple as can be:

I feel a trigger and release velocity is all it would take to solve the simple problem of RGB buttons. Nearly every controller out there that has an RGB function uses this method of determining what color is to be used. The feature would come with the "Midi Feedback" checkbox unchecked by default, where it would act as normal and the two new drop-down menus would be grayed out. When the button is checked, there would be a velocity scale from 1-127. I feel like the implementation would take probably less than a day of dev time and wouldn't interrupt anyone's workflow (besides maybe stopping them from having to open Bome's!)

I have searched through the forum posts and have seen that this has been discussed, but there is not a whole lot of concrete details on the way it would be implemented. So now there is.

Thoughts? Ideas? Criticisms? If you would like this too, please chime in.

Thanks.
