Two Projectors. 1 Image. HELP!

Post by mandoplan »

Hey everyone, first time poster, and total resolume noob. We're having some issues with getting two projectors to project the same video.

We're projecting content onto a car, with one project at 45 degrees from the headlight, and a second at 45 degrees from the tail light. We want to use both projectors as a single light source and are having issues with the directions in this thread viewtopic.php?f=12&t=13946&p=57476&hili ... ors#p57476).

Specificially, we followed these instructions to a T.
Start Arena,
The simplest way to do a setup like this is to double your composition width, position layers to the left for one side, then layers to the other half for the other side of your object.
Then in advanced output you create 2 screens one for each side of your composition, both will have one slice which you adjust to cover your left and right side of your composition in the Input section - see rightClick menu.
You can select the Screen's output by selecting the screen on the left side, then you'll see a drop down on the right side where you can select your projectors, one for each screen.
Then you can adjust your slice to the correct position on the Output section to fit your object.

The main issue being the middle of the car where the two sections are supposed to meet isn't working out. Is this just a matter of finagling with the mapping to get it right? I feel like there's a better way. Here are some pics and video of the issue:

Usually, where two projectors overlap on a flat surface, you can stitch them together via edge blending.

In your case, a car is not a flat surface. This makes it very difficult to nigh impossible to get a perfect blend. Your mileage may very though, depending on how much a perfectionist you are.
